Hello, hello! I’ve had a few different people email me asking about what I eat as a healthy snack, so I wanted to speak on this. I’m going to be completely frank: When I’m busy or “in the zone”, I don’t always remember to eat. I sit there working, working, working, until it finally hits me that, oh sh*t, I haven’t eaten or drank anything in the past 5 hours. This is not good, folks.
Pears are so under-appreciated. I feel like we forget how delicious pears are or maybe it’s just me. I always remember to buy the apples, bananas, and oranges, but pears fall off my radar! That’s okay, though, because now I am in love all over again. I whipped together a delicious light breakfast and had to share.
Hi there, my dears! The week is almost over, so I wanted to throw in a little pick-me-up smoothie recipe. I live for my green smoothies. Somedays it can be a challenge to get in your full serving of veggies, so I try to pack as much as I can into my morning smoothies. I will admit, there are days I just fork over the $10 to Liquiteria and buy the damn thing, but I definitely shouldn’t make that a habit.
Happy Monday, Loves! I hope everyone had a smashing Valentine’s, Galentine’s, whatever weekend. I just hope it was fantastic no matter what. It was quite frigid in NYC, but we made the most of it. In fact, the S.O. and I spent the weekend holed up making arts and crafts for our new apartment, and we made chocolate covered strawberries, and the below peanut butter energy balls! It turned out so yummy we decided to document the process… and you bet these little bitties followed us to the movies to see Deadpool (hilarious dark comedy – go see it if you’re into that).
The boyfriend and I were painting the apartment all day Sunday, and we had no idea what to make for lunch. I basically only had cauliflower and spinach. Then, it dawned on me – I know how to make a healthy alfredo sauce using cauliflower! I’d been wanting to try it, and since fettuccine Alfredo is one of Andrew’s favorite meals, I wanted to lure him from the Dark Side (it’s healthier and cleaner over here).
I don’t know about you, but everyone around me is sick. I cannot escape it. Co-workers are sick, subway riders are sick… and if anyone takes the L train, you understand how impossible it is to avoid germs on that crazy packed train. I am finally getting over a pretty gnarly head cold/sinus infection. Now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I wanted to share with you some tips for speeding up the healing process. If you’re like me, you also do not like to take medicine unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. I want my body to have a fair shot at fighting it before I resort to a quick fix.
