You and Your Body. What a rocky relationship that can be. Although, the world wants us to be ‘body positive’, it’s not always an easy feat. I didn’t plan to write about this, but after two sweet young girls messaged me asking for advice about the same topic, I really felt it was important to discuss. Because they are NOT alone in their battle.
My oh my, this has been a long awaited topic on my list to cover. I get questions about self-employment and blogging ALL the time, and I truly love helping out to the best of my ability. I’m in this with the rest of you – If what I’ve learned can help a few of you take the next steps towards pursuing your dreams, then count me in! So, here is what I’ve learned since becoming fully self-employed:
Photography by Forever Photo NY We are almost out of the woods, my friends! That beautiful, warm weather we’ve been anticipating is on its way – I can feel it. I am at the edge of my seat waiting for that first sign of a 70 degree and sunny forecast, so I can spend all day outside. You feel me? This time of year is when all of the excitement for summer starts to build, and people tend to get reeeally motivated to kick their workouts into high gear. Me, included.
All photos are by Victoria Jane Photography unless otherwise noted. You guys! I recently had the glorious opportunity to tour the flagship of Gotham Greens‘ rooftop greenhouse. This particular location (one of four!) is conveniently located above Whole Foods in Gowanus. I was definitely in plant lady heaven, and couldn’t stop smiling even if I tried. If you don’t already know, Gotham Greens is the urban farming pioneer growing and harvesting hyper-local, pesticide-free greens on rooftops. Every vegetable and herb is sustainably grown using 100% clean and renewable energy.

I’ve recently learned a very valuable lesson, and I wanted to speak on it. Writing definitely helps me cope, so I hope this topic impacts you in some way as well. So, what is this lesson learned? The importance of picking and choosing your battles.
