Ello, ello! Last week, we went on a mini vacay to the Windy City with some good friends. It was nice to get out and explore another town for a bit. We went to a cool science museum, ate delicious food, and saw one of Andrew’s favorite EDM artists – Porter Robinson & Madeon. Amongst the site seeing, we snuck in a little yoga sesh. Aaaaand I brought along my new pretty yoga mat to test out (thank you, Free Thirty Three!) In short, I’m in love. More about this rad brand below.
Styled by Athleta Hi, my loves – I was browsing through Pinterest the other day, and I came across this quote: “Eat like you love yourself. Move like you love yourself. Speak like you love yourself. Act like you love yourself.” It’s such a simple sentiment, right? Yet, it can be difficult to put into action. I think of all the times I feel discouraged, unsure, or how I’m just so damn hard on myself, and how I am actually the only person standing in my way. I have nothing, but kind, supportive and loving people in my life. And yet…
Happy Monday, loves! Another weekend flies by… I feel like life is moving in hyper-speed. I’ve been making a conscious effort to slow down a bit, and really enjoy where I am at this moment in my life, instead of trying to rush rush rush and cram everything in. I’m creating s p a c e. With that said, my muscles are super sore from boxing and bootcamp classes last week, so I decided to whip out THE STRAP. I am a big believer in utilizing yoga props to deepen your asana practice. I think sometimes there is a negative connotation around yoga props, as it’s often referred to as a ‘modification’ (another word I personally avoid using as a yoga instructor). Think of it more as an option. In the enormous world of yoga, there are endless options, choices, and opportunities to focus your energy on your own personal practice. Yoga props are here to help you increase flexibility, stabilize joints, and create space where needed.
Can you believe it’s already September? This is my favorite month with October coming in at a close second. Perhaps, I’m biased about September, since it’s also my birthday month (woohoo)! Cannot wait to celebrate with my favorite peeps. Today marks the launch of Sweaty Betty’s #PowerHour Campaign, featuring their bold, beautiful and versatile POWER Leggings. When the Sweaty Betty team asked me to share what I do in my #PowerHour, my initial thought was yoga. No surprise there, eh? But, when I started to dig a bit deeper, I realized it’s more than just the act of doing yoga. It’s so much more powerful than that – It’s having the freedom to do yoga anywhere and everywhere. #StopDropAndYoga yeah!
I completed my yoga teacher training in Nicaragua almost one year ago. It’s surreal to think how such an impactful event in my life has come and gone so quickly, yet I think about it all the time. The effects of this training on my life rolled through with such great force, and I still find myself stepping back and reflecting on how my life has changed since then.
Yoga Bag c/o Gaiam | Outfit c/o Athleta | Poofy Hair c/o Humidity Hi Guys! It’s been a busy, busy week. Actually, it’s been a very busy two months. From Kentucky to a yoga retreat Upstate NY to Kentucky again, then straight to Ecuador and onto Florida, and finally…. Texas. It’s been a well-traveled summer to say the least! I love it, but I’m excited for a bit of downtime. This is my first “free” weekend in a looong time. Although, I am actually working. On my blog. #WhatzNew #ButYay I’ve managed to take my booty to the yoga studio, despite my rollercoaster schedule – and for that, I’m proud. There was even a day I biked to class in the hot hot heat (one hour round trip). So, it got me thinking… it’d be fun to share what’s in my personal yoga bag.
