Has it seriously already been 3 years since I launched Om & The City? I cannot imagine life without this space, and I feel very blessed to have started blogging back when I did, because it helped me cope with so much. Om & The City started out as a creative avenue for me to share my wellness knowledge with the small group I acquired through guest blogging for Your Zen Life. Flash forward 3 years, and it has evolved into a little business, but with the same integrity as it did when I first started.
Photos by Victoria Jane Photography I’m a planner, a list-maker, and you’re right to assume I make it a priority to sit down and make my list of New Year’s Resolutions… or rather my ‘Goals of 2017’. Thinking back two years, 2015 was the year of transformation – the year I made big changes in my life, which set my path into motion. 2016 has been all about the aftermath of that transformation – planting the seeds and building out the foundation. Now, this bright & shiny new year – 2017 – is firmly focused on taking action. This will be a pivotal year, I can feel it!
All photos by Victoria Jane Photography You remember how I said the winter bums me out? It’s because I feel trapped inside all season – I really love exercising and practicing yoga outdoors, but the bone-chilling windy weather usually keeps me locked in. 🙅🏻 Well, you know what, I’ve decided come 2017 I’m done hibernating. I live in New York City where it’s cold more often than it is hot, so I just need to embrace it! And part of embracing the cold is finding the right apparel that moves with you.
Ello, ello! Last week, we went on a mini vacay to the Windy City with some good friends. It was nice to get out and explore another town for a bit. We went to a cool science museum, ate delicious food, and saw one of Andrew’s favorite EDM artists – Porter Robinson & Madeon. Amongst the site seeing, we snuck in a little yoga sesh. Aaaaand I brought along my new pretty yoga mat to test out (thank you, Free Thirty Three!) In short, I’m in love. More about this rad brand below.
One year ago today, I embarked on a journey that became a huge turning point in my life. This time of year will forever be a symbol of perseverance, and a true example of what happens when you follow your heart. One year ago today, I was trotting the lands of a remote town in Nicaragua. I quit my job a couple weeks prior. I saved up my money. Bought my ticket & paid for the yoga teacher training – So, there I was with twenty other strangers. All of us from different walks of life, but all there for the same reason – to learn, grow, and evolve as a yogi.
Styled by Athleta Hi, my loves – I was browsing through Pinterest the other day, and I came across this quote: “Eat like you love yourself. Move like you love yourself. Speak like you love yourself. Act like you love yourself.” It’s such a simple sentiment, right? Yet, it can be difficult to put into action. I think of all the times I feel discouraged, unsure, or how I’m just so damn hard on myself, and how I am actually the only person standing in my way. I have nothing, but kind, supportive and loving people in my life. And yet…
