Hey hello, yogi lovers! My friend and fellow lifestyle blogger, Allison (@allisonclairmurray), came to visit over the weekend, and it was just pure joy with donuts, smiles, and lattes. We put together a series of bendy, twisty, and stretchy partner yoga poses for absolutely anyone to try. Matching wardrobes are not required, but HIGHLY recommended. =)
If you’re reading this, you might have anxiety or have experienced anxious thoughts and emotions. Let me start off by saying, you are not alone. Everyone feels anxious in some degree. Some people experience a very mild and situational anxiety, while others struggle with severe panic attacks. No matter what area you fall into, there are natural ways to help alleviate your pain.
I recently did a takeover on Sweetgreen’s Insta-Stories to share mindful tips to jumpstart your day. I absolutely love this topic, so I wanted to piggyback off of that to share more insight into why I do what I do every morning! I hope you can apply it to your own life and see how it truly benefits you. So, let’s cut to it. Do’s & Don’ts to Mindfully Jumpstart Your Day DON’T Look at Your Phone Right When You Wake Up Your first instinct when you wake up is to reach for your phone. RESIST. Just purchase an alarm clock or use a Misfit or Fitbit watch that sends a gentle buzz to your wrist. Starting off your day with incoming notifications and emails you collected overnight is not an empowering way to get moving. Although, we are all a little addicted to social media, we can wait jusssst a little longer to play catch up. Trust me. It has drastically improved my productivity in the morning. DO Drink a Big Glass of Warm Lemon Water There were some days when coffee was the only thing in my system up until noon on a workday. No bueno. Now, I immediately heat up a […]
Ello, ello! Last week, we went on a mini vacay to the Windy City with some good friends. It was nice to get out and explore another town for a bit. We went to a cool science museum, ate delicious food, and saw one of Andrew’s favorite EDM artists – Porter Robinson & Madeon. Amongst the site seeing, we snuck in a little yoga sesh. Aaaaand I brought along my new pretty yoga mat to test out (thank you, Free Thirty Three!) In short, I’m in love. More about this rad brand below.
Happy Monday, loves! Another weekend flies by… I feel like life is moving in hyper-speed. I’ve been making a conscious effort to slow down a bit, and really enjoy where I am at this moment in my life, instead of trying to rush rush rush and cram everything in. I’m creating s p a c e. With that said, my muscles are super sore from boxing and bootcamp classes last week, so I decided to whip out THE STRAP. I am a big believer in utilizing yoga props to deepen your asana practice. I think sometimes there is a negative connotation around yoga props, as it’s often referred to as a ‘modification’ (another word I personally avoid using as a yoga instructor). Think of it more as an option. In the enormous world of yoga, there are endless options, choices, and opportunities to focus your energy on your own personal practice. Yoga props are here to help you increase flexibility, stabilize joints, and create space where needed.
Can you believe it’s already September? This is my favorite month with October coming in at a close second. Perhaps, I’m biased about September, since it’s also my birthday month (woohoo)! Cannot wait to celebrate with my favorite peeps. Today marks the launch of Sweaty Betty’s #PowerHour Campaign, featuring their bold, beautiful and versatile POWER Leggings. When the Sweaty Betty team asked me to share what I do in my #PowerHour, my initial thought was yoga. No surprise there, eh? But, when I started to dig a bit deeper, I realized it’s more than just the act of doing yoga. It’s so much more powerful than that – It’s having the freedom to do yoga anywhere and everywhere. #StopDropAndYoga yeah!
